Doki Quest

To be able to play the game unzip the file and open the folders until you get to files named SourceCode.

You can play the game by opening the executable (.exe). 

Your computer may flag the exe file as a virus. This is a common false positive that happens because I used pyinstaller to package the game and antivirus software often mistakes these kind of files for malware.

If this happens and you are not comfortable with opening the executable (totally understandable) you can run it directly on python.  Just keep in mind that you must have python and pygame-ce installed on your computer.

There are plenty of tutorials on YouTube that walk through installing Python and pygame-ce step by step, so if you’re new to it, those can help you get started.

Once in the game press f and you should see a red square which you must click on. If you do not see the red square and instead the 'press f screen', spam f a few times whilst clicking at the centre of the screen and it should load, hopefully. There may be some flickering when you spam the f key so just be warned of that. 

If you see a white screen it means that the game is over and just exit by pressing the escape key.

Controls:

• escape - exits the game
• wasd - movement
• 1  / 2 - switch between weapons (only use the second weapon as the first one does not do anything)
• Click - to attack 
• Shift / Space - Dash
